Fresh Start, by Terri JordanThe works of Tennessee artist Terri Jordan will be featured in two local exhibits this month. Jordan is the featured artist at the Roxy Theatre’s Peg Harvill Gallery in Clarksville for the month of August during their production of Into the Woods. Works in this show form part of the artist’s Extinctly Endangered series that explores paintings of children and animals in a whimsical celebration of child’s play. The show will be a part of the August Art Walk on the fifth of the month. Best known for her Matisse-inspired paintings of women and still life, the subject matter of children and wildlife is a debut of new material for the painter.

In Nashville, Jordan is part of the show entitled Sense of Place at the Tennessee Art League. Jordan’s work in this exhibit is in consort with rogue artist group Undergroud 9, which she founded last year. The show runs August 3-28 at Poston 3 Gallery of the Tennessee Art League. An opening reception takes place on August 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
